Dr. Apte is the Director of Kerala Ayurveda Academy. She holds an integrated BAMS degree in Ayurvedic and Allopathic (conventional) medicine from the University of Poona, India (1973), and an MS degree in Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology) from the University of North Texas (1991). Dr. Apte has more than 30 years of experience in Ayurvedic practices and teaching. In 1997, she founded the Ayurveda Institute of America to offer the best quality education in the United States. Now, the Ayurveda Institute has merged into Kerala Ayurveda Academy. She is a past president of the CAAM and is on the NAMA board of directors.

Alka earned her Bachelors of Arts degree and Law Degree in India and has worked as a corporate lawyer. She holds an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor, Ayurveda Wellness Practitioner and PanchaKarma Spcecialist certificate in the US. In addition to her PK speciality, Alka is also a skilled Massage Therapist specializing in Swedish, Sports, Pre-natal, Infant, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Lymphatic cleansing and Tui-Na massage systems which she learned from Bryman's college in San Francisco.
Alka says, "I have always had a passion to do something which could bring me closer to humanity. Ayurveda had always been in my heart, so when got the opportunity, I changed my career to become an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor and Massage Therapist. I feel fortunate to be able to serve my clients from my knowledge of both Western and Eastern healing modalities, using Sattvik diet, life-style, meditation and Pranayam as the base of my Practice".
Dr. Rucha Kelkar, BAMS, MPT

Dr. Rucha Kelkar, BAMS, MPT is the director of "AyurblissTM" Ayurveda Wellness for Mind, Body and Spiritual Health. www.ayurbliss.com. She received her graduate degree from University of Pune, India and secured a top rank in all three academic years of her Ayurvedic education. She also has a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach.
Dr. Kelkar is an accomplished Ayurvedic practitioner and educator and provides health consultations, panchakarma therapies and comprehensive workshops based on the authentic science of Ayurveda. She is also a teacher for Kerala Ayurveda Academy. With an extensive clinical experience in Ayurvedic therapies, Ayurvedic consultations and Panchakarma, Dr. Kelkar is determined in providing quality service to her clients.
She is also a writer for various Ayurvedic magazines and journals and will soon feature an an Ayurveda expert in a documentary film on breast cancer. As well, she has been a featured presenter at the NAMA Conference on multiple occasions.
